The Diary of a Refugee by Bishnu Dev Halder
The story of the filmmaker’s vanishing village and the uncertain life in it. Set up amidst wild jungle as a settlement for refugees from East Pakistan, the village became a busy industrial hub bringing the villagers regular earnings. Today, the village is about to be engulfed by the ever-expanding boundaries of the land-hungry industries. The filmmaker documents the uncertain life in the village on his multiple visits over a period of five years through the life of his sister and her neighbours,.
