Stopover by Collin D’Cunha
Stopover explores the narratives and stories of four Indian immigrants who live and work in Dubai. Through their personal journeys and everyday lives, it examines their aspirations and ambitions, and how in trying to fulfill them, they contribute to the mega-ambitions of the city of Dubai.
Collin D’Cunha is an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India and has assisted filmmakers Reema Kagti, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Raj Kumar Hirani, amongst others. This is his first documentary. His diploma film, Shyam Raat Seher, won two National Film Awards while his short film – Mumbaikar Ganesh – was adjudged the Best Film at the Mumbai Film Festival, the Best Short Film in Melbourne and was screened at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.
